first pair

Jaywalker 1

I might be a little late to the party, but this here is the start on my first pair of Jaywalkers. I was doubtful of how it would look with the self-patterning (like this jacquard-ish) yarn , but so far I'm liking the outcome!

  1. I don't think I've ever seen Jaywalkers that were not made with self-striping yarn! I always assumed that the chevron pattern would disappear if one used a solid yarn. Your trekking looks lovely!

  2. Hi Veronique! I agree on the striping, but wasn't sure about using a yarn that patterns into checkerboards, etc. I thought it might be too busy or muddly. I edited the post to clear up what I meant to say.

  3. They look great, and I'm really into the Neapolitan-ish colorway.

  5. This looks like yummy Neapolitan ice-cream. I like it a lot! This pattern was made for self-striping yarn.

  6. I just started a pair of Jaywalkers too last week. Pics to come. I was on my way out the door for a 5 hour plane ride and was like, "Quick, need sock pattern!"

I like how your yarn looks. The colors are pretty-like chocolate covered strawberries :-)
